Unlike conventional cooling elements, modern PCMs are engineered to release or absorb thermal energy at precisely defined temperature ranges. 

This controlled phase change behavior allows PCMs to keep products within their required temperature window for longer periods. Modern PCMs are engineered so that their melting point is tailored to the required temperature range.
